Finding Mentors

Each project is expected to have a clinical and an engineering mentor. You should designate one of them as a leading mentor as you see fit. You may select mentors from your own personal connections, from UIUC and Carle faculty in related and relevant domains, or from the mentor pool below. Mentors’ role may vary depending on their involvement in your project. They are responsible to advise the scope of your project proposals and meet you at least twice throughout the entire course to oversee the progression. They may meet you more frequently to help you with more specific tasks such as defining the medical question, interpreting results, or suggesting analytic tools. However, you should discuss with your mentors before having them submit the mentor confirmation form to have a mutual agreement on their involvement. Mentor expectations are described in more detail in the mentor confirmation form and in resources available from the course directors.
